Amber Fillerup recently began a series called 12 Things Tuesday and I love it. So I’m going to try out my own called What I Love Wednesday where I share 10 things I love (10 is my favorite number). The point being to simply reflect on and share what I love! I enjoy reading when others make lists like this, so if you’re into that sort of thing, stick around 🙂
- Girl Scout Cookies — God knew we needed Girl Scout cookies, specifically in the month of February. Thin Mints and Samoas being my personal favorites.
2. Psalm 37 — In the midst of a tough season, I’m freshly encouraged by Psalm 37’s reminder that God cares about the desires of my heart and that he acts when I commit my ways to him. Also verse 18: “The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care, and their inheritance will endure forever.”
3. St. Pete Beach — I recently visited my sister in Florida and we spent a day at St. Pete Beach. Perfect 70 degree weather, colorful and casual buildings, a lot of retro signs!
4. Amy Peeler’s new book — Dr. Peeler’s book, Women and the Gender of God is beautiful, clearly written, and so so important. One of my favorite quotes so far: “Just as men are encouraged to imagine themselves as members of the bride, women should be freely encouraged to imagine themselves as members of Christ the bridegroom. As men can represent the church, so can women represent Christ.”
5. Hot chocolate — My winter goal has been to perfect a hot chocolate, and besides the incredible Belgian hot chocolate from Chicago’s Christkindl Market, this one has been the next best thing. That is, until I discovered Swiss Miss makes hot chocolate packets with lucky charms marshmallows. I used one of those with a Trader Joe’s hot chocolate caramel heart. It was…a lot of chocolate but it was also delicious.
6. Harry Styles’ jumpsuit collection — Say what ya want about Harry, I want his wardrobe. The sequins, the flare pants, the colors. I love it all. Boas included.
7. Airline cookies — A reminder to always say “cookies” when flight attendants have you choose between Biscoff and pretzels.
8. Kibbitznest — This is a local spot in Chicago that I’m newly obsessed with. It’s not a place to work remotely, since they intentionally don’t have WiFi, but what they do have is even better: sooo many books, games, cool decor, coffee by day/cocktails by night, and moody vibes.
9. Obsessively researching tattoos — I research everything obsessively before making big decisions and that’s what I’m currently doing with tattoos! And have been doing for about two or so years. 2023 might be the year I finally get one 🙂
10. Alex Kittoe’s film photos — I just started following Alex Kittoe after stumbling on his photos online. Highly recommend if you want more beauty in your life.
