1. Stargazing— Stargazing is underrated! It’s so fun yet relaxing, free, and a lovely way to be in nature. One day soon, I hope to go stargazing somewhere really dark so I can see the Milky Way.
2. The Up Room — at the Robey Hotel! The Up Room is a rootop bar with an incredible view of the city, swanky indoor seating, and unique cocktails.
3. Pink toilet paper — IKEA has pink toilet paper and honestly why wouldn’t we want to make our bathroom more exciting?!
4. Indoor picnic — Another underrated activity! Outdoor picnics are a favorite during the summer, but as the weather cools down and my allergies get more unhinged, indoor picnics are where it’s at! Put blankets on the floor, play music, light some candles, and enjoy your fave cheese board in the living room.
5. Homemade Greek fries— Adapted from Rachael’s Good Eats recipe. I slice up yellow potatoes, cook them in the Air Fryer with oil and sea salt, then top with salt, oil, oregano, za’atar seasoning (from Trader Joe’s), red onion, and feta. SO good.
6. Mad Mitch on TikTok — You’ve probably already seen her videos where she lists “Things that are none of my business” like “the back of my hair,” “serving sizes,” and “how many times I’ve watched the same TV show.” She’s hilarious.
7. yesconnieishere — I love Connie’s fashion Instagram. Her style is casual, fun, unique, and gives me so much inspiration. And makes me want to go thrift shopping.
8. We’re Here to Help — This is a new podcast with Jake Johnson (Nick from New Girl) and Gareth Reynolds. They give funny advice to callers “like your friendly local bartender or your tipsy uncle at a family gathering.” Their advice gets more and more absurd–in the best way.
9. Prequel — A coffee shop in West Town. Lots of pink decor along with great coffee.
10. Learning new hobbies — As I continue to learn how to play tennis, I’ve been thinking about how important trying new things is even as we grow older. There are so many wonderful things to learn and enjoy in the world, and we don’t have ourselves figured out yet! I know I enjoy painting, but I want to try out more creative outlets in my free time, like embroidery and knitting. I love to work, but hobbies are important, too!
