1. Chicago Maker’s Market — A time where small businesses sell their art. Prints, clothes, pottery, food, jewelry. I went over the weekend! They had this cute station to make stamp poetry.
2. Morning and evening routines — Since I just started a new job, my routines are upended again. But I’ve been trying to be more mindful about my morning and night routines. My ideal routine includes staying off my phone when I wake up and right before bed, having time to read for fun/write/paint, and going to bed at a decent hour.
3. John Mulaney special — John Mulaney’s new Netflix special, Baby J, is hilarious and incredibly honest about his journey through addiction and rehab these past few years.
4. A morning smoothie — I’ve basically been drinking a smoothie every morning for the past 3 years. My go-to is strawberry with peanut butter and oat milk. Quick and easy yet tasty breakfast.
5. Harry Styles on the last episode of The Late Late Show — It’s funny, cute, and heartwarming.
6. Cincinnati — I haven’t been to Ohio much, but I visited Cincy a couple weeks ago for a friend’s bachelorette party. I loved it! The architecture was beautiful and colorful. We went to a lovely farmer’s market, too. It’s a place I’d like to explore more.
7. Karaoke — Speaking of the bachelorette party, we sang at a karaoke bar, and it was so much fun. Better than I expected. Together as a chorus, we sang our hearts out to all the best karaoke songs.
8. The Mindy Project — This was an on-point recommendation from a couple friends. I’ve loved this show from the first five minutes.
9. Sweet potato fries with chili powder — Plus salt and paprika. I nearly exclusively eat sweet potatoes this way because it never fails.
10. Tulips! — It’s that time of year when tulips are all around Chicago. If you’re local, don’t miss them! I love them!!
