1. Women’s History Month — I’m glad to have a month of the year dedicated to centering women’s work and insight!
2. Ted Lasso — SO GLAD Ted Lasso is back! I’m hoping Led Tasso makes another appearance this season.
3. Blue Jean candle — My favorite candle by Capri Blue. Better than volcano!
4. Walks by the lake — Specifically, Lake Michigan. Even with freezing temps, it’s nice to get outside. Plus there are countless wonderful spots on the lake!
5. Poached eggs — I can’t even remember what filled me with such determination to learn to make poached eggs, but now I’m going to add them to every meal. They seemed a bit intimidating but are actually quite easy and quick! Here’s the recipe I used.
6. Wednesday — The new TV show, not the day of the week☺️ I don’t gravitate toward darker shows, but Wednesday is fun and magical in a Harry Potter sort of way.
7. Monochrome outfits — Making monochrome outfits is not only super satisfying, but it’s a way to avoid outfit boredom without buying anything new. Plus, I just love wearing 10 different items of pink at a time.
8. Making an Effort podcast — MAE is one of my favorite podcasts. It’s hosted by two friends, talking about “all the things they make an effort with, and some of the things they don’t.” It’s informal, fun, and covers a range of topics like cooking, dates gone wrong, purity culture, and boundaries. Mel and Gabby feel like my friends now.
9. Homemade keychains — There’s something nostalgic about stringing those plastic beads together, isn’t there?! I made a new keychain recently along with one for my roommate and I can’t recommend this low-price craft more.
10. Lighting candles whenever I want— I have taper candles all over my apartment. I love them, but I usually only light them for special occasions. When I went to Sweden, I discovered lighting taper candles is an every day occurrence. I started to wonder: why shouldn’t I eat my leftovers in front of some nicely lit candles? So I’m doing that starting now.
