1. This interview with Tish Harrison Warren and Abram Van Engen— Okay, sadly this article is not free. But I love NYT and I love this interview about poetry. Van Engen says, “Poetry and poems begin with an understanding that knowledge is gained through a kind of experience of the world.”
2. Barbie, obviously — The movie, the album, the wardrobe, the marketing. I’m so glad I get to live during the time this movie released, because it feels revolutionary. I’m obsessed with the t-shirt I wore to the premiere which I copied from Ryan Gosling. ILY Greta Gerwig. Also, Oppenheimer was great, too, and you should see both.
3. A good vintage sweater — It doesn’t matter the time of year, I cannot stay away from the sweater section of any store, especially the vintage store. It’s a good thing I live in Chicago. I love to get vintage sweaters in the different places I travel because whenever I wear it, it reminds of that place.
4. Le Bouchon — A fancy French restaurant in Chicago. I’d never been to a fancy French restaurant before, and wooooow. This place is incredible; I can’t recommend it more highly. We got many delicious dishes, including Foie Gras, which is… duck liver. You might think to yourself, like I did, “that’s gross.” This makes perfect sense. But you would be dead wrong. As weird as it sounds, Foie Gras tastes more like brie cheese than it does meat. I promise, you just need to try it. It is a delicacy and you won’t regret it!
5. Thee Sacred Souls — I recently went to a concert where they were the opening act. They’re incredible! A similar vibe to Leon Bridges.
6. This article on Religious OCD — I’m grateful for Alan Noble’s vulnerability in writing about scrupulosity/religious OCD. An important read.
7. Trader Joe’s Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies — Usually I’m not one for a store bought cookie. I don’t mean to sound pretentious, they’re just never as good as homemade. While this is still true, this bag of trader joe’s choc chip cookies are the best I’ve ever had. Better than Famous Amos. I inhaled them.
8. Katelyn Beaty’s article on singleness — Titled, “I had to leave the Christian suburbs to thrive as a single woman.” I love Katelyn’s writing and this article is no exception!
9. Friday Morning Swim Club — A giant fun time at Lake Michigan where hundreds (thousands more like) people jump in the lake at 7 am! A very delightful summery thing.
10. Hunter Prosper on TikTok — Hunter goes around different cities asking people questions like, “Who was your greatest love and why did you fall in love with them?” and “What’s something you wish you would’ve said?” The responses are so good–a real restored faith in humanity when you watch them!

Looking up Thee Sacred Souls ASAP!!
