1. Coast of Michigan
I didn’t explore the coast of Michigan until late into living in the Midwest and I can’t believe I didn’t sooner! It’s so dreamy with its sand dunes, scenic drives, cool summer weather, and quaint little towns.
2. Pinterest outfit collages
If you’re still using Pinterest—like I very much am—then maybe you’ve come across these great clothing collages that create different outfit combos. It helps me get creative with the clothes I already have, and inspires me to put the same pieces together to make different outfits.
3. Trader Joe’s squiggly noodles
For how much I eat these, you would’ve thought I’d already mentioned them. Trader Joe’s squiggly noodles are basically their version of Ramen, but better. Take my word for it.
4. Good branding
I’ve always loved colorful packaging on everyday items like soda or skincare. Like a well-designed book cover, branding is the first thing you notice. Honestly, it’s the reason I’m drawn to buy some products!
5. This podcast episode about healthy phone habits
This episode hurt to listen to, but in a good way?
6. Financial Feminist
I’ve been ranting about this podcast to anyone who will listen. I LOVE it. Tori Dunlap has taught me so much about using my finances well, understanding why we don’t have a good financial education, and making practical steps. It’s empowering. I recommend starting with this episode.
7. Lavender shortbread cookies
I recently made these and they’re easier than I imagined. And so so good.
8. Penny Preaches
I can’t wait for this book to be released in August! Penny Preaches is about a little girl who learns that she loves to preach. With the message that God gives good gifts to everyone, this a book many women in ministry would’ve loved as children. I’m so happy this message is getting to girls and boys at an early age.
9. Chicago Public Library Winter Garden
The top floor of the Chicago Public Library is the most insanely beautiful greenhouse-style seating area with tile floors and a glass ceiling. An incredible place to study or work remotely.
10. Taylor Swift Acquired podcast
This 2.5 hour podcast went by too fast. Acquired is a business podcast about the story of businesses, and this episode is all about the business side of Taylor Swift. The hosts relay Taylor’s early work ethic that led to her fame, her original concerns with music streaming, and the story around re-recording her albums. I learned a lot about the mechanics of record companies and how artists get paid. It was fascinating.
