Happy Wednesday! Last week I was in Stockholm, so I thought I’d make this Wednesday a list of things I love about Sweden. I hope ya enjoy!
1. Fika – If you don’t know much about Swedish culture, get this–Swedes take a break every day to socialize, have a coffee, and eat a pastry. It’s a priority in Swedish culture. Are you kidding?? We knew this already, but America is doing it wrong. This lovely little hour is called Fika, and it makes me want to move to Sweden.
2. Kardemummabulle – AKA, Swedish cardamom buns. They’re sweet and flavorful. I’ve yet to see any in the U.S., but I highly recommend trying one if you ever get the chance!
3. Colorful buildings – One thing I value when I travel is architecture. I love to see a culture’s appreciation for beauty through their buildings. I adore the colorful buildings in Stockholm.
4. Swedish meatballs – The first time I tried Swedish meatballs was at IKEA, and let me tell you, they are good. The ones in Sweden are obviously 10x better.
5. Nationalmusem – This is Sweden’s largest art museum, located in Stockholm!
6. Lots of outdoor flower shops – Flowers just make everything better.
7. The Stockholm Library – Three levels of books!! I’d love to work here remotely if I lived here.
8. Sneakershyllan – An awesome store for sneakers and coffee. They had the newest sneakers but also served coffee, Red Bull, Koolaid (!), and Cheetos. I love unique places like this.
9. A Blizzard – I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I didn’t feel like Chicago got enough snow this year, so I was happy when it snowed a lot while we were there. It’s magical! I also can’t count the number of times each of us almost busted it while walking around the city.
10. Using jet lag to my advantage – My body does not know what time zone I’m on, so I’m automatically waking up a bit earlier. I’m trying to use jet lag to become a morning person while it lasts 😉
