This weekly post is meant to share not simply things I love, but ways I’m seeing beauty in my every-day life. I hope they remind you of all the beauty in the mundane, and even the ways the mundane is beautiful.
1. A fridge stocked full of groceries — There’s something about having the fridge full of my favorite ingredients that’s an instant mood booster?!
2. The New Happy Co — I love this Instagram page. The graphics perfectly capture the point of the post and they’re always encouraging.
3. Rosemary flavored anything — Rosemary is one of those versatile herbs, ya know? It’s good on potatoes and chicken, but it’s also good in scones and coffee (rosemary syrup is my recent fave).
4. Walkable cities — I love how I can get to a coffee shop and the bank and the tire shop all in a five minute walk! Living in a walkable area makes me feel more connected to my neighborhood.
5. Prayer — I’ve realized again recently how prayer is actually for my benefit, even when I’m angry at God or don’t understand or even want to talk to him at all. Processing my life with God makes me feel lighter because I start to believe that he sees and cares. In prayer, I remember that I have another, all-powerful Person aware of what’s going on in my life and ready to help me.
6. Colored glassware — It’s so beautiful! The few pieces I have I found at secondhand stores (or FB Marketplace) for a decent price.
7. Coffee shops that stay open late — A huge shout out to all the places that recognize that I want to camp out at their coffee shop. Thank you for staying open until 6. Bonus points for all the spots open past dinner!
8. David Gate’s poetry — Deep, relatable, beautiful.
9. Holy Week — The most important week of the Christian liturgical year–the week we remember Jesus’s death and celebrate his resurrection. Happy (almost) Easter!
10. Black bean sweet potato enchiladas — A friend and I (mainly the friend) made these a few years ago and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since! I finally made them again yesterday and they’re still just as good.
