1. THE WEATHER IS WARM AND PERFECT — Everyone in Chicago is living their best life, outside seating is overflowing, and I’m wearing a tank top and shorts as I type this.
2. Trees are green again — This is a natural result of point one, but I just feel I need to emphasize how much I missed seeing life. Birds chirping, tulips and daffodils are in the medians, iced coffee, enjoyable walks!
3. Cage the Elephant — Dipping back into their music because many of their songs are the perfect summer vibe.
4. Cooking bacon in the oven — Just a reminder that this method exists and it’s easier than stovetop bacon. Less clean up!
5. Long friend hang outs — I love those never-ending, casual friend hangs! The kind that last all day and you still want to keep enjoying their company.
6. The Understudy — A new coffee shop in Andersonville! It’s both a coffee shop and a theatre bookstore. It’s not only a beautifully designed spot to grab coffee, but a place where writers can read scripts and watch performances.
7. Clear record holders — My roommate and I have recently hung up her records on our living room wall. I love it.
8. Juneshine — My favorite brand of hard kombucha that now feels even more necessary when it’s 80 degrees outside.
9. Dirt cake — The cake of my childhood. With my serious love for Oreos, I requested this cake for many of my birthdays growing up. I recently made it for Easter using the recipe here. It can be made with chocolate or vanilla pudding!
10. Shrek 5?!?! — The first Shrek is objectively one of the best movies of all time. The message, the humor, the soundtrack. It’s so great. Because of this I will watch literally any iteration of Shrek and look forward to this next movie!
